Jumping Jon and the Tale of his illness
By: Jamie B. Kennedy

Jumping Jon was a man who could jump over Pluto and travel faster than light, much faster. Once Jon jumped so high and landed so hard that eh made the Grand Canyon. Scientist believe when God created the Earth, the Moon was attached to it, until one day Jon was happily jumpingalong when he landed just right. Whoosh - the moon popped righ off and made the San Adreas Fault.

Jumping Jon loved to reach reading to kids. He spent many hours of the day inside when he could have been outside jumping.

Jimping Jon had a problem. His problem was he was a diabetic. Jon didn;t want to accept it. he went on living like there was no problem. He'd skip lunch and work too hard.

Once Jumping Jon went outside on a cold winter's day and caught a cold. For weeks he tried to get rid of it. The first day of spring break, his wife Daring Dottie said, "Jon, Honey, I'm taking you to Dr. Dan's whether you like it or not."

So when they got to Dr. Dan's, he said, "Jon you have pneumonia. You'll need a lot of rest and no jumping."

For the rest of that day Jumping Jon stayed in bed. He also stayed in bed the next day. Later that day when Jammin Jamie and Daring Dottie came home, Jumping Jon's ears were blue. Dottie called the doctor and said, "Dr. Dan, Jon's ears are blue and he's having a hard time breathing. What should I do?"

"Well," said Dr. Dan, "take him to the hospital near the San Adreas Fault. That's what you should do."

So Dottie took Jon to the hospital. The next day Daring Dottie and Jammin Jamie wnt to see Jumping Jon. When they got there, Happy Harriett was there. She took Jamie downstairs for a Coke.

When Jamie and Harriet were downstairs, Jumping Jon had some bad news to tell Daring Dottie. "Dottie," he said, "the doctor says I need a kidney transplant." Dottie said "Oh?"

Later on Daring Dottie was called to the phone, it was Dr. Dan. "Dottie," he said, "We have found some new news. We beliee Jon's kidneys failed which caused his lungs to fill up with fluids and all the stress caused a mild heart attach."

Everyday Jon was getting stronger. One day the Doctor told Jon he didn't need a kidney transplant or anything. All he needed was a couple of days of days' rest and a weekly check-up. Finally Jumping Jon was able to go home which made Jon very happy.

When Jon got home all his friends were there and gave him a big "Welcome Home," party. From that day on anytime Jumping Jon felt ill he went to the Doctor's instead of ignoring it.

You may not believe it but Jumping Jon is still living and he is now working as A Reading Supervisor of Harford County.
